The BEST construction grade phone Nextel came out with!
The Motorola i355 is, in my humble opinion, the BEST construction grade mobile phone that Nextel came out with yet. It easily outdo it older siblings i305, i315, i530, and i560. Unlike the first three siblings, the i355 boasts a color screen, multimedia messaging, directalk (the off-network walkie-talkie), and supports many applications, music ringtones (in addition to polyphonic ringtones like the first three only supports), wallpaper, games, etc. It is a very hardworking phone, indeed! Moreover, you can drop on concrete and it can be runned over and the only thing affected is the cosmetics. Yes, it still functions after all the normal abuse that a construction worker puts the phone through!
As with every phone, there are drawbacks to this model but they are few! For instance, the keys are stiff. I don't recommend this phone for anyone with arthritis in the hands (fingers, specifically). It is like carrying a brick. Indeed, its the heaviest phone I ever carried. With that in mind, its bulky. If you want the "coolest" construction grade phone out there (meaning mp3 support and camera), the i580 is a better choice out of the entire lineup. The i355 does not support mp3 music and camera. However, the i355 is the best no-nonsense phone and is perfect for the roughest of people.
I purchase the i355 as a gift to my cousin because he breaks mobile phones left and right. Thusfar, the cousin could not manage to do any harm to the occassional "accidents" that occurs on the job site. Overall, if you want everything but mp3 player or camera and you are rough and tumble with your phones, the i355 is the mack daddy. But, if you must be a techie and still rough and tumble, I recommend the i580. Happy working!

Motorola i856: The first iDEN Slider Phone
18 of 19 found this helpful Introducing the Motorola i856, the first iDEN Slider Phone, which can be used on the Boost Mobile Unlimited $50.00/mo. plan. The i856 has a microSD slot which can hold up to 8 GB. Surprising, the i856 is more technologically advanced than the much hyped Motorola i9. It camera quality isn't as impressive as the AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon lineup of phones. It is screen quality is the best I have ever seen from iDEN phones. It has an "ugly" exterior, but this phone has everything you will expect from an iDEN phone and more. It has the acclaimed walkie-talkie feature. The battery life is better than the i9. If you must choose between the i856 or the more expensive i9, I humbly recommend the i856. It is over a $100.00 cheaper than the i9, has the same features as an i9, and unlike the i9 better battery life. Enjoy! :)

Motorola i776
11 of 11 found this helpful The Motorola i776 comes in two variations: brown or purple. The latter is feminine named Motorola i776w. Both phones are same in feature, but as aforementioned different in appearance. Both phones have Bluetooth and camera. The camera isn't nearly as good as the Motorola i9 or Motorola i465, respectively. Unlike Motorola i9, the Motorola i776/i776w does not have a microSD card slot thereby will not play mp3's. The battery life and reception is better with the Motorola i776/i776w than it is with the Motorola i9. I highly recommend this phone for the average user, not the technophile. There is nothing spectacular with this phone. To conclude, you can use the Motorola i776/i776w (along with all other Boost Mobile and some Nextel phones) on the Boost Mobile $50.00/Mo. Unlimited Talk, Text, and Web plan. Enjoy, my friends! :-)
