Excellent lens, well worth it
4 of 4 found this helpful I've been wanting a macro lens for a very long time, and been dithering between getting the Canon 100mm or the Sigma 105mm. I ended up going with the Sigma 105mm because one became available at a competitive rate so I dived in.
So far I have been more than impressed with the quality, of both the lens itself as well as the quality of images produced.
I do a lot of work with very small animals/insects and so this lens allows me a good working distance, even though the lens barrel does extend when focussing down to 1:1. I use it on both a full frame and APSC sensors and have had brilliant results with both
A highly recommended lens that punches above it's price point in my opinion.
