Top notch camera for the serious amateur
For those looking to take their XT, XTi, XSi, T1i, T2i to the next level, the 40d is a perfect fit. The Canon 40D is built better than the lower tier cameras has higher quality accessories available. Because of the larger sensor than the Rebel series, the noise control at high ISO (up to 1600) is phenomenal and allows for shooting in much lower-light situations than many other cameras. For those interested in sports/fast action shooting, the 40d can do continuous bursts of 6.5 frames each second - as long as your CF card can write that fast.
Overall an excellent buy for those that need a step in between the Rebel series and the full frame D series (1D, 5D, 5DMII, 7D) which can seriously damage your wallet.
