Yakima Tracks 42 with PlusNuts, Low Profile Track, 42 inch
30 November 2019
Plusnuts are expensive.
I didn't have enough plusnuts. Plusnuts are very expensive. I used traditional 60lb anchor screws to go through my tonneau cover (fiberglass) but that may not work in every application. it's holding very well.
Garmin Virb Camcorder - Black
01 January 2023
My full review, as a 6 time owner but I must sell them now.
1. I've owned like 6 of the virb since 2017 and have never purchased any of them new. All have been a. A few were purchased from Rage_cams on ebay b. The rest are from various sellers on ebay. c. A few have been serviced by Garmin_parts on ebay, and they're great!!! They're based in Russia, so that may be a problem right now, 2. Here's what I've learned 3. They're very sturdy, and can take a beating but… a. Don't pull off the cover and battery unless you have to, and be careful when you do. Always pull the battery out from the bottom (farthest from the lens) and put back carefully "head first". b. The biggest problem of these unit's is the battery contact mechanism inside of the unit. There are two sets of contacts, one for charging and the other for use. If these contacts get ruined the unit must be serviced. c. Don't use the menu buttons unless you have to. i. Power on can be done by plugging into the computer with a usb cable and then disconnecting the cable immediately when the unit starts up. ii. If you have to press the menu button on the site, do so with a FLAT finger or thumb, never with a pointed finger nail, that will Ruin the button permanently. iii. The large record button can be switched on and the unit will turn on, and if you switch record off the unit will power off. 1) Unit power on = solid green light. 2) Unit Recording = Flashing Red light (Although one of my units is not red, it's green, must have blown a red diode, or some technical crap like that. It still works well. 4. Data mode a. Plugging into your computer will i. Allow the camera to become a mounted drive and you can copy / paste videos and edit. You can then delete the videos on the cameras. ii. Will charge the battery to capacity. 5. Editing software a. Garmin has a free virb editing software. b. Sony also has a free editing software that works well. 6. Other things to remember a. Don't waste menu clicks (and wearing out the very sensitive buttons) on setting the data and time. b. If the unit loses battery power (due to dead battery or battery removal) the unit will reset the folder structure and the video # increment back to "1". c. If you have a Garmin cyclometer, you can program the virbs to automatically start / stop (with two virbs per unit) when your cycling unit starts and stops. This is very convenient. Batteries last for a little more than an hour. The mounts are really hard to find. The mounts are really
