It works.

The auto focus on my AF-S 16-85mm is working again! The motor fit perfectly. The solder points on the strip connector are not identical to the previous motor, but that did not create any difficulty.

It works!

I got this as a back-up battery and haven't used it long enough to know it's performance, but the early signs are good. When I first got my D3400 I purchased a generic back-up and the camera rejected it (it seems Nikon puts some smarts in the batteries). I was a little wary of getting another generic, but this works well.
