Wonderful Mattress Tool
I have the Dyson Animal 2 which has a lot of good suction. Getting the mattress tool to go with it was a no brainier. I like it because it is a good size, solid, and does a great job. Yet, it is not too large that I am unable to vacuum along the sides of the mattress.

Good and disappointing
This is a powerful vacuum. The dust bin is easy to clean. Foam filter is larger than my duo clean speed. Comes with a new style dusting tool and a folding motorized brush roll. They are both designed to be able to slide onto the back part of the vacuum. Power switch is on the handle and there is a light built into the handle so you can see what you are cleaning. Really nice. It is not as noisy as my Speed duo clean. Due to high winds there was a lot of black dust on my balcony and I used the Apex to remove it all. I used the upholstery/brush to remove it. It did a fantastic job. Of course, the bin was black with dust and the foam filter was black. It cleaned up well.
I found when vacuuming carpet that it moves forward on its own. Requires a bit more effort to pull it back. Check out some of the videos on YouTube. One man has had his for only a few months and the rubber like material is already pealing off the handle. I just looked at my Shark speed and the material is starting to come apart on the handle. I have only used it lightly for about 7 months. On the Apex you can not remove the main brush roller like on the speed model. The hose still could be longer. When the Apex is in lift-away mode is when I noticed how much heavier it is. Maybe because I am older, I found that I could only carry it around for a short period of time. I think it is easier to use a bagged vacuum. I don't like having to clean my vacuum all the time. Especially since I live where water is not in abundance.
