It IS a nice piece.
And in remarkable condition considering it's age. Unfortunately when I installed it on my Colt Woodsman Series 2, it just did not fit my hand well, felt out of place. This does not reflect badly on the grip extension, it's not a one size fit's all, is all.

Ball instead of sleeve bearings
Most furnace fan motors nowadays have sleeve bearings. They used to have oil ports to lube the felt oil reservoir that fed the sleeve bearing. Over a decade ago, they stopped doing that, and called the bearings "lifetime lubricated" - problem is, lifetime is 8 to 12 years or so. People don't know, or think to remove the motor to lube it every 5 years or so. The HVAC companies, I talked to, simply replace the motor with a new one.
This motor has sealed ball bearings. Depending on temperature and operating conditions, a ball bearing motor will last about as long as the sleeve bearing motor. The HVAC companies may still simply replace the motor, but if one has half a clue, for $12 to $15 for a couple of bearings (probably 6202 ZZ - but check) you can have your motor good as new.
I bought this one as the shaft on the original was damaged due to the cooked sleeve bearing - I cleaned it up and it's running still, so this new one is a spare for now.

Big filter, low to no pressure loss, see the dirt!
Wanted the clear housing and this is one of the few, not blue, options. Went in with no problems or leaks.
