Not high build quality
I had a great seller and got a very nice cosmetic piece at a good price. My guess is that Sony spent more on design with this item than quality. The way the speakers connect is unreliable and shorts are frequent. The sound quality isn’t very good either. One of the appeals of vintage cassette audio to me is it’s flat range, this device’s sound is very, very flat. It’s small, which is pretty cool, I thought it would be bigger from the pics. It would be worth finding a way to connect the speakers to the receiver permanently, to eliminate the frequent shorts. Without doing so it is hard to see much value beyond aesthetics for this item.
