Power capacitor fault wrecks otherwise nice monitor

My Acer 43" monitor was "refurbished" but started turning off and then back on for no reason a couple times a day in the first week. Sometimes it wouldn't do it for a whole day and then randomly start doing it once or twice a day. A few weeks ago it started doing it much more frequently every day. I researched online and changed power cables, shoved the power cable up into the monitor as hard as I could, and changed the HDMI cable -- nothing "fixed" it. From some further research online apparently Acer uses a poorly designed power capacitor and it is a common fault. Apparently it causes many returns but is Rarely (never?) fixed because it is an intermittent fault that is not usually caught and they go right back out the door as "refurbished." Oh, and if you want to get it "repaired," apparently it costs more than buying a new one.

Compact with a great screen

Well made solid chassis. Bright crisp screen with deep OLED blacks. Runs warm during gaming but not too hot. Fans are very quiet. Upgraded from my giant 2 year old MSI and am very happy.
