Classic Christian Punk & Thrash In One Set!
This is a great collection of songs from a band that grew from a young punk-rock band (ala Minor Threat, but without the f-bombs) to a more focused and mature Thrash/punk band, full of funky grooves and straight-ahead metal. The early work totally reminded me of growing up in the D.C. (Washington) area, and the Dischord scene, including early Fugazi, Jawbox, and Shudder To Think, and it's a blast to listen to at full volume.
Fortunately, the box set also includes the incredibly rare - until now, that is - 'Pillars of Humanity' album, in it's fully remastered glory. While the earlier material is definitely in line with Black Flag and Minor Threat, the last of the music written by The Crucified was more along the lines of Vengeance Rising and Slayer; still had a punk edge, but was more sophisticated in it's overall presentation. This is a great set for any fan of early Christian metal history, or simply any fan of good ol' punk rock and metal.
