I purchased this to use with the CF cards for my Canon 5D classic. CF cards need to be aligned correctly at the beginning of being inserted into slots because they will not be connected to the pins at the correct location if they are not, leading to bent pins and ruining your cards. So nicer readers will have guides on the sides of the slots. This product lacks them, and there is no other way than to just feel and wiggle to get your card inserted into the slot correctly. One night after painstakingly aligning my card like usual, when I thought I had the alignment right, I pushed my card in all the way, and it felt weird immediately - alas, I had misaligned it! The misalignment caused a few pins to bend, but the real problem was that now my card wouldn't work. I ended up ordering a pair of used CF cards from Adorama, and a new reader. The new reader has the guides, and it now takes no effort to insert the CF card into the slot. If you are considering this reader for your CF cards, you may want to take account what happened to me.
