Freezer required.
5 of 7 found this helpful The description does not state that the bowl inside the machine has to be placed in a freezer for several hours to make it cold enough actually make ice cream. The machine is not as much fun as implied.

Heat control is poor. Otherwise, a great Mini Split Unit.
We installed this unit last spring. It is an excellent air conditioner for the summer. However, as a heat source, it has a problem. When set to 67 degrees F, it maintains a room temperature of about 68 degrees, but when set to 68 degrees F, the room temperature goes up to about 75 degrees. It is either too hot or too cold with a room temperature swing of about seven degrees for a set point change of one degree.
