A very good compact camera
I bought this camera for my wife as she wanted to progress to a good product with full manual settings similar to my Leica Digilux 2. Although the images are not as warm and natural as the Leica, this is an amazing camera. What she loves about it is the size of the camera - although not a true shirt pocket camera it is small enough and more portable for holidays and trips out. The face detect and the ability for the focus to follow moving objects like children is amazing! The sharpness of the pictures is fabulous too along with the 5x zoom. The zoom is what swung it for us over the Panasonic LX3. We have owned Panasonics previously and have been impressed but the little Canon has won us over. When compared with the price of the G11 the G10 was a bargain as it had everything she wanted from a camera at a fraction of the price from e bay. I would recommend anyone who wants to step up from a compact but not to the bulk of an SLR to consider the G10 (or the Leica Digilux 2)!
