MIDI not functional

The first two pins of the chip are hard wired to prevent real-time MIDI data from being processed. From the chip mfg, seems to be a software way to re-enable it, but the Geeetech company knows nothing about how to do that. I did not evaluate the other functions of the board.

Requires off-center positioning to charge.

It worked, but the "sweet spot" for charging is off-center. The NFC is likewise shifted, and has a smaller sweet-spot.
