X30 Pacsafe Backpack
Great security features. You can have a world class tramping backpack as I did that was for onboard. Problem is there were no security features. The X30 gives enough space for onboard and is a good tramping backpack. It does have issues of its own however. You order black and get these bright white lower straps, no no no. If I find myself in the wrong neighbourhood in Mogadishu I don't want to look like a Christmas Tree! There are too many pockets, this is not a who has the most pockets competition. Anywhere you have an opening on a pack you need to be able to lock it. This back pack requires about 100 locks but has only one lockable zipper! The second largest chamber is unusable if you fill up the largest chamber. Why bother putting it there? I would prefer either one less zip - remove the pocket, or something that you can put stuff in, it would need to be able to extend out another four inches. Anyhow, it has good security features. You need something like this for onboard luggage if you are a highly mobile person. I can just squeeze in enough onboard stuff, this is not desireable you need extra space to pack in a hurry. This bag is not a fail, it is 50%. I think a standard backpack is about a 10% even if it is world class tramping material. I will consider other Pacsafe items to fulfill my requirements instead. But all is not lost, this is a spare, this is good for round town. It creeps in at 50% which is a long way ahead of most. The X30 scores 4 stars, it is the devil you know, standard backpacks score 1 star, consider this kind of item from Pacsafe!!!

Pacsafe Bumbag
The item employs cutting edge security features but it is too large, needs to be reduced to about 80% of current width. The strap is not long enough, I like to sling it over my shoulder. The padding on the back is over kill. The security features are A1. The challenge is to combine a standard Caribee bumbag, add 10% extra size, and use all the features and materials provided by Pacsafe. I would change the clips to the same side as the Caribee bumbag, though this is personal preference. A long way in the right direction, maybe too chunky to be a practical 'man bag', definitely better than pockets, but loses to simple old sports bumbags at this point in time. Bumbags make you stick out, you don't want to stick out as much as the Pacsafe bag though, it screams "tourist', smaller bags say 'unusual' (but are very sensible, especially if you are changing clothes a lot).
