'An old-fashioned, but still a practical tool'
I never thought I'd see my childhood 'threat' again - my Mum had two of those, a small and a larger one - the small one was the subject of a vague threat when I was naughty, that I would get beaten by it - but it never happened, but the bigger one was for our very large Persian carpet, which, monthly, would get dragged down 3 flights of stairs, hung up on a specific carpet 'rod' in the yard and beaten, wiped down with a moistened cloth, then allowed to hang for a while - and we had a clean carpet. She continued to do this even when we had purchased a vacuum cleaner. This was Central Europe - in the 1950s.
Over the years I have had various smaller genuine Afghan etc rugs and carpets and always longed to give them that extra treatment, even after vacuuming and shaking them - never dreamt one could still buy a 'Pracker' (carpet beater) - thankyou - I have used it and it is pretty enough to hang in the kitchen with my various-sized wicker baskets.

Wonderful but expensive product
Guinot have excellent products - initially there was only 'the "longue vie cellulaire" cream and maybe some offshoots' available via the beauty industry - wonderful stuff, but expensive even then. I am finding that Guinot now have more products, packaging is cheaper (where is the wonderful dispensing bottle for sun lotion? - lucky I have kept the 'empties') and they are pricing into the luxury market now, sadly, I will begin to look elsewhere.

my favourite fragrance for a great price
for a different 'fragrance' it is a gift for that price. Love it.
