Sturdy, lightweight, extrememly durable, classy, worth every dollar.
Not all sketch boxes or "plen air oil painting boxes" are created equal. The hinges on the Mabef sketch box are super sturdy. The handle is sturdy and made with leather. The clasps are clean, strong, and stay clasped when shut. The beach wood that is used cleans up really nice with a cloth if you spill paint on it. This works great as a laptop or table top panel box for oil painting. The inside tray is made of a formed adjustable aluminum pan that catches anything that drips out. It can also work for watercolors, acrylics, graphite, charcoal... Other than paying someone to make you a custom box, or making it yourself, this is THE sketch box to own. Mabef only produces these in small limited numbered amounts because they are all hand-crafted. The box has enough space to work on a 10 piece stack of 300gsm pieces of paper, or about three oil panels. I bought mine 20 years ago, and will probably hold on to it for the rest of my life. It's a keeper.

This adaptor worked with both my Robinair and Harbor Freight AC harness mounted to a vacuum pump. Solid brass fitting.

Good lights for cuttings. Good light coverage, Bright but not annoying.
I was using regular 100W incandescent bulbs to keep my cuttings alive over the winter. The 15w replacement grow light bulbs were brighter, and I could readjust the lamp without burning my hands. The LED lamps put out heat, but not even close to as hot as an incandescent bulb. I would describe it more as "warm to the touch." I liked these bulbs because I didn't have to modify any of my existing lamps. They are ready to screw into an existing socket.
