One-volume Short Story Library
This is intended to be as comprehensive a survey as can be made in one volume and that's what it is. The authors, from Washington Irving to Donald Barthelme, are grouped in four sections outlining the course and development of the American short story. That's interesting, but of course the book can be read just as a very enjoyable collection. It's more enjoyable because of the illustrations of the authors. Herman Melville looks a character and a half, as might be expected from someone who wrote that masterpiece-of-masterpieces, Bartleby the Scrivener.

A taboo and shambolic relationship.
In itself, this is far from being a great work of cinematic art. The two main characters are a pain - but that's almost the point. Their dialogue and acting leave something to be desired yet, overall the film is effective in portraying a taboo and shambolic relationship. In English-language culture, think Tennessee Williams. Even so, why five stars? All right, perhaps erring on the generous side, but, be that as it be, this is a must-see film by an writer important because of the combination of how he did what he did when he did it.

Top Class Handy Version.
I have had one chess computer by this manufacturer for years and found it to be top class. This item is a small battery-powered version, handy for moving to any room. I have not had it for long but so far its performance is top-class.
