Great option
At the price offered, compared to buying a new one, the instrument panel rebuild is a great option. I've learned that your mileage is stored in that instrument panel, so if you install a new one, or buy one from another vehicle, the unit will have to be re-calibrated. Not so if yours is rebuilt and replaced.
Removing it was a challenge, as I didn't have the tool to slip into the slots to move the clips inside it. A Youtube video showed this, and showed the tool. I made one out of some thick sheet metal and it worked fine.
The unit has been in the car (2002 S500) for about 3 weeks now, running flawlessly. I can't ask for better than that.

Good part.
Matches the old one in size, wire locations, etc.
Works like it's supposed to. Can't ask for more than that.
