Expensive, but worth the money.
I am a retiree and not a mason or bricklayer by trade. I had to remove 60+ bricks from my chimney because they were cracked or spalled. I could not have done this job without the AS175. It was somewhat difficult trying to start the cut with the blades provided. So I pre-cut a slot in the mortar with a masonry grinding wheel in order to give the ALLSAW something to bite into. After that, once the saw blades were into the cut, they cut the mortar just fine. I was surprised, that after all of the cutting that I did, that I didn"t chip any teeth on any of the blades. The plunge blades were fantastic on the short vertical mortar lines. This type of work takes a little bit of strength and some practice in handling the tool, but I would not have attempted this job without this tool.
