Modern Manners: An Etiquette Book for Rude People by P. J. ORourke
12 April 2018
Not one of PJ's better efforts
As a PJ O'Rourke fan, I find most of his humorous takes on economics, living, and politics funny, witty, innovative, and informative. But this book just didn't reach out that way for me.
Beginning [Bonus DVD] [Blackmore's Night] [4 discs] New CD
23 January 2017
CD's OK, but DVD's terrible audio quality
As a Blackmore's Night fan, I looked forward to these discs. The CD's are OK audio quality. I have the 2006 Live in Paris CD/DVD set, and the DVD is thoroughly enjoyable video and audio. But somehow, the Live Castles or Germany concerts DVD's with all the outtakes have horrible audio quality. Candace Night's voice is muted behind a wall of sludge audio in the concert scenes. Even my wife commented that the audio was "nervous" and irritating to attempt to listen to. We couldn't get through the Germany concert DVD and the Live Castles audio was just as bad ... we listened to the first 10 minutes and it was impossible. The audio quality would do justice to a Victrola, but not even to a recording on modern equipment & microphones from the 1950's. Buy this set only if you're a Blackmore's Night fanatic and want to visit the outtakes or see the video of the concerts.
