As A Budget Gaming Mouse You Can't Go Wrong For The Money
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought mine way back in February 2017 and it still works as well now as it did back then. This is the kind of peripheral that gear snobs and hardcore gamers might sneer at but don't listen to them. For the money this thing is unbeatable. I paid around £14 nearly three years ago so it's cost me less than a fiver a year plus batteries. Now it's even cheaper, it's a pretty risk free purchase.
Now, sure, it's not got the sheer number of buttons of something like a £200+ Razer or other top end brands but if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg this thing is perfectly adequate for all but the most serious and hardcore PC gamers. It will work straight out of the box - plug the USB dongle into your PC, pop in two AA batteries and you're good to go as soon as Windows installs the drivers.
Mine has performed flawlessly for all this time which says a lot considering the things you read about far pricier offerings that experience breakages and failures after far less than one or two years. I've used mine on all sorts of games from RTS to FPS amd it handles all of them fine. Considering I sit about 5-6 feet away from my tower, the connection and responsiveness of the mouse remains solid and accurate. It's had daily use for many hours at a time, the battery life is good (just turn off the stupid lights and two AA batteries last for many many weeks/months) and it's never missed a beat.
The mouse feels solid despite the fact that the hard plastic is probably pretty cheap. It's well designed and comfortable to use for long sessions in your favourite games. The buttons all have a nice positive feel to them and there are enough to reduce your reliance on keyboard keys for functions like crouch/prone by simply using your left thumb on the two side buttons.
Like all gaming mice, experiment with the DPI settings of the mouse in combination with in-game sensitivity options until you find the sweet spot for each game. In FPS games I find using the highest DPI setting on this mouse, and lowering sensitivities in-game gives me the best results but everyone's mileage varies so it comes down to your own preferences.
Would I buy another one? Certainly, if it was all I could afford or was prepared to spend. It's certainly well up to the job for which it was designed and mine has held up to the test of time very well. If you're buying your first gaming mouse and must have wireless, this thing is a genuine bargain. I've just upgraded all my hardware and to compliment that I've purchased a new, more expensive Logitech mouse because it does have a few additional features and specs that this one lacks.
I'm hoping the quality and longevity will match what I have had with this budget bargain, which I will keep around as a backup/spare - in that sense the new one has a lot to live up to.
