Good Wires With A very Unassuming Look
I bought these Pertronix plug wires to go with a new Pertronix distributor I bought. They have a dual-core, and no solid core.
One end of each wire is already terminated with the spark plug fitting, so you have to cut these to length and add the type of end you need. The wires come with lots of fittings and boots for both configurations.
For those who haven't assembled their own wires before, I highly recommend you buy a proper crimping tool, such as those made by Accel. Simply crimping with pliers can be frustrating, time consuming and may not give you the best results.
These wires have a very "stock look" so they won't draw stares and unneeded interest from smog technicians. My only minor complaint about these is the smaller 7mm wire size, and the lack of plastic wire separators. It would be a cheap addition that would complete the set...

Superior Quality Part. Works Perfectly & Is Highly Adjustable.
This distributor is as perfect as it gets. The aluminum billet body is highly polished and "show quality." The rotating parts are solid, with zero play and the electronics are well engineered. The silicone wire is also very high quality.
Because this part comes with a CARB EO number, this is the solution all of us late 1970's through mid-1980's Mopar owners are looking for in California, to keep our cars on the road and running correctly.
Since this part has a built in ECU to control distributor timing and advance curve, it bypasses the Chrysler Lean Burn computer altogether. The result is no more pinging, knocking, misfiring and excess combustion chamber temperatures. It actually improves emission performance too. Just make sure your emission technician sees the label and is aware of it.
Once I installed this and properly timed it, my 1985 Dodge van with a 318 V8 ran better than it ever has before! Excellent low-end torque, good midrange and more power for climbing hills. Very smooth engine performance.
I recommend changing plug wires as well.
My only minor complaint about this product is the specialized cap and rotor. You will have to buy these from Pertronix as a factory Chrysler distributor cap and rotor will not work with this...
