Plenty of level power for a contractor or for general use.
1 of 1 found this helpful I was looking for a transit type optical level for as little money as I had to spend since I owned an older model years ago and got rid of it because I seldom used it. It was a "flip over" style telescope and although quite old, it was still quite accurate but that accuracy depended on how well your setup was, as in how level you could get the instrument and maintain that level condition throughout the use of it at that location.
Now new technology has built in level compensator and for the life of me I can't see why anything else but one of these auto-level scopes would ever be wanted anymore. They are truly an accurate and fool proof level and with 24x magnification they work quite well for short distance use around a job site or location where you can easily see 500-750' to the rod-man. I can easily do a 4-5 shot closed loop sight with +/- .02' accuracy back to the origin. I was quite impressed and I think it's mainly due to the auto-level option within the instrument.
I was going to buy a whole kit with tripod and rod included but the cost was very prohibitive and decided to part them thru e-bay and all total I think I'm right at $174.00 for all three components.
Set up was simple and easy as the base has a standard thread that just about any tripod made for survey work will engage. The three turn adjusters for getting the instrument level are quite firm feeling and robust with no loose threads and a good tight feel. The hook underneath is perfect for the plumb bob to attach to (included with the instrument) and the little string winder plate is easily locked onto the string to hold the height of the plumb bob above your ground spot. The foam packaging around the instrument is quite firm and I'd think a more softer type would be better but I'm not the mfg so I will defer to their tests and judgment that it's sufficient to prevent knocks and drops to prevent instrument damage. Also included with the instrument is a decent instruction booklet in multi language format that describes in detail the various things you need to know. A pair of allen wrenches are included to do a calibration adjustment to the bullseye level on the instrument if the need arises. The table rotation knob and related thread engagement assembly internally are quite nice and tight and very smooth to do fine rotational adjustments.
As an entry level or contractor grade instrument, this one is quite nice and very adequate for the building contractor or road builder trying to get some basic level conditions to work with. This instrument does NOT do vertical incline degree of slope measurements but has a nice base compass rose with easy to read numbers of sufficient size for turning corners or any other angular requirement in the horizontal level plane.
All in all, I'd give this 24x Optical Level a 4.5 out 5 stars.
Would I buy it again... YES... for what I need it for now it is quite adequate and the price is affordable so you can not feel so guilty if it sits on the shop shelf for awhile.

best buy on a level tripod
1 of 1 found this helpful The Tripod was very well constructed, has easy to adjust leg locks made from a type of polymer material, and obviously injection molded. The feet are metal and although one small rubber tip protector was missing from the packaging, I doubt I'd use them anyway as majority of my setups are out in the dirt or other bare ground areas.
The table top appears to be ground flat and the Bosch 24x optical level mates perfectly with this tripod as I'm sure all other instruments would that are made for surveying work.
The height capability is quite sufficient for me (I'm only 5'-5" tall) and can be made far to high for my comfortable use so even a tall guy will find this quite satisfactory. The bright orange color is easily seen from quite a distance.
I'd give this a 5 out of 5 star rating. Definitely cheaper than most and well worth the cost.

If I need another pair, I would search until I found more of these.
2 of 2 found this helpful I already had a pair of these Pioneer headphones from the late 70's and they are awesome! After I set up my small home recording studio, I wanted a set of headphones for anyone else that would be playing or singing with me as we recorded live so guess what... I found another set and bought them. They are slightly heavy but not so much you get fatigued, they are hot, read that... sealed well against your ear and head so outside sounds are muted significantly. Keep your recording area cool for comfort over an hour long recording session.
The quality of these headphones is outstanding as the testimony to durability since these are so old.
If I need another pair, I will again search for these and buy them as well. You can even contact the parts dept at Pioneer and buy new foam inserts for them still! And anything else they had including a new box (original as well).
These headphones are as good as any on the market today under a $100. Well worth the investment.
