The Superbowl of guitar necks
2 of 3 found this helpful Any time you can pick up an authentic Fender neck at about the same price as a 3rd party brand you need to consider it seriously. Fender's replacement necks, in my opinion, are far better than most of the necks that come with their guitars. This one, with roasted maple and a pau ferro fretboard, is the Superbowl of guitar necks. The maple is smooth and fast and the pau ferro is a tiny bit brighter than rosewood. A good value, a good playing neck.

Well, It's the Beatles, Isn't It?
2 of 2 found this helpful One of the problems I've always had in playing the Beatles is that they produced, at least in my opinion, a sound that melded and disguised each part. Curt Mitchell, the instructor of this video, notes that the Beatles were a "song writing band," who used guitars to deliver their message. This DVD can unlock those "individual" sounds to let you play Beatles' songs. Curt Mitchell has long been one of my favorites, and I highly recommend his teaching technique. Between the slow motion breakdown teaching techniques, and the printable tab sheets, you can put together Beatles tunes in pretty quick order. I recommend popping the DVD into your computer and printing out the tabs in acrobat reader before beginning, to make the process easier. Hey, you're playing the Beatles--it's not work!

Phat P-90 in a Can!
Seymour Duncan pickups get overlooked for so-called "boutique" pickups all the time, but day-in day-out they are hard to beat. Duncan was the guy who originally raised the bar for pickup produced tone and in the last few years he's gotten even better at defining what guitar player's want. The Phat Kat is a majorly overlooked pickup in the P-90 realm, largely because P-90 snobs don't think you can get a good one "in the can," or in the hum bucker format. But these are fabulous. They are fat and large sounding and bright across the full tone spectrum. Not to mention the great work by those crazy guys at 920D. Their pick guards are suburb. Great (and neatly produced) wiring jobs with different colored wire that is braided and tied into place so that you don't have to stuff it into your guitar body's cavity and sit on it like an overstuffed suitcase to get it to fit. This is professionally done, top notch primo work with neat and high quality soldering work. 920D is quality at a reasonable price!
