Great replacement for the Bontrager Paradigm RL
My Bontrager Paradigm RL was getting long in the tooth and I didn't have a spare. I was wary of the new Bontrager Aeolus saddles since they clearly changed the shape of those, so I took a chance with the previous generation Montrose Pro Carbon.
It is my first saddle with carbon rails, which is a little bit scary for me but at almost 90g lighter (165g on my kitchen scale) I decided I'd take a chance with it and mounted it on my bike (retaining bolt torqued to 9Nm). The profile and shape of the saddle are almost exactly the same as the Paradigm RL, with the primary difference being that the outer cushion material has a matte, almost faux leather feel to it, versus the slick vinyl material on the Paradigm RL.
I went for a ride today and my initial impression is that it retains it's shape better (my old saddle is very worn out though) for a firmer ride, although the cushion material is comfortable and grips a little better for an improved sense of power transfer and stability on the bike. I'll probably buy another one for backup. 5 out of 5 stars!
