Not For The Squeamish
1 of 2 found this helpful I bought Planet Earth because I felt this DVD set would allow me to see places on the earth that I would never see otherwise. I was not disappointed. The photography of far-away and remote locales is outstanding. In some cases the photography teams hunkered down for weeks, in less than favorable conditions, just to get a few minutes' footage of rarely-seen animals. I came away feeling honored that I was allowed into the world of such beautiful and, in many cases threatened creatures. I did NOT expect to be bombarded with scenes of animals hunting animals. The peacefulness and serenity that I expected to feel while watching the series was constantly interrupted by graphic footage of animal chases and predators ripping the flesh off their prey. Viewing a few seconds of "the pursuit" would have been adequate. I am not so naive that I do not understand how the food chain works. I did not need to have it pounded home to me in scene after horrible scene.
When I bought this DVD set I thought I was purchasing many hours of viewing that I could, and would enjoy over and over again. Once was enough for me. The price of seeing the most awe-inspiring and beautiful places and animals on this earth was just not worth it. The Planet Earth series could have earned a place in the DVD collections of families around the world. I would not recommend this set to children and I will not allow my grandchildren to watch it. Isn't there enough violence in our lives every day? TV news programs and movies are full of "blood and guts" viewing. How nice it would have been to have these many hours of educational programming to watch with our families. Instead, this set of DVDs subjects us to the same violence but tries to convince us of the necessity in showing it. No, it was NOT necessary and it ruined an otherwise beautiful production. If you have a strong stomach by all means buy this set. If you love animals and do not wish to see them hunting and eating each other opt for something more enjoyable. I wish I had.

Can not find my size chunky
Why is it so hard to purchase the size chunky that I want? The middle of May I was able to order a box of chunky bars 4.25 oz, no matter how much I search I can not fine this size bar, Why

Unbelievable Value. Non-stop Comedy. Awe-inspiring Talent
Absolutely entertaining on every level. Terry Fator is a genius ventriloquist/impersonator. This DVD is a wonderful way to entertain guests, too.
