New Seagate Personal Cloud 2 Bay 4TB Desktop NAS STCS4000301 Backup hard drive

Safety First - Speed Second
We've had faster storage access with USB drives through the house server, but sadly they have all crashed their hard drives over time and our data has been lost. We are willing to put up with slower access to the Cloud Server because it offers RAID1, which ensures we will never lose our data again. All worked well out of the box, and connecting it to the router was a breeze. Knowing our data is secure gives us peace of mind. Finally!
Seagate 1TB Expansion Portable Hard Drive

Fastest external drive I've ever used
In the past I've always bought empty drive enclosures and used old hard drives in them to store my data. Little did I realise how quickly hard drive transfer speeds had moved on from these old drives. This Seagate Expansion HDD was the fastest drive I've ever used. In less than an hour I'd pretty much filled it, something my old drives would have taken many hours to do. The drive being USB 3.0 capable might have had something to do with this. And what is better, it even worked with my DVD player, when some online articles said it wouldn't. In W indows, I just had to change the partition format from GPT (the new technology) to MBR (the old technology) and it worked perfectly. It's about an eighth the size of regular external HDDs and sits inconspicuously next to the TV, and doesn't even need its own power supply since it gets all the power it needs through the USB cable. I will be buying more of these.
