FIRST IMPRESSION
1 of 1 found this helpful This is my first slot car set as an adult, having had two others many years ago when younger.
The cars and track themselves seem to be well built and durable. Setup was easy, though this is just a small figure eight layout.
I am somewhat disappointed in the operation of the cars.. The cars don't begin to move at all until the plunger on the controllers are pressed almost all the way down. There is virtually no slow speed movement at all. I don't know if this is an issue with the cars or the controllers, or both.
I would be interested in hearing from the manufacturer or other users regarding this.

POOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Bought this to use primarily because of the hex head drive. Unfortunately, the hex head drive "spun off" of the drill bit shank the very first time in use. Still usable if you pull off the hex drive and install in a locking type drill jaw, but hex head drive is useless. I thought spending more money and buying a name brand would be worth the extra expense, but … WRONG.
