Great macro lens at a good price
This lens takes razor sharp images with little spherical or chromatic distortion up to F5.6, and perfect images from F5.6, F8 and upwards. The autofocus is a bit clunky and sometimes hunts, but it's mostly accurate. Manual focus is smooth and precise. This lens has been superseded by new Tamron models that provide quieter autofocus and other features (image stabilization, for example) but this lens is still a good addition to any enthusiast lens collection. It comes at an excellent price, too, so I'd recommend it to anyone interested in starting macro photography. This particular lens fits and worth with a Nikon D5600 perfectly.
I've attached some photos taken with the lens when I first got it. They're not perfect (I'm still learning how to use it) but as you can see, this lens is very capable.

Razor sharp image.
This lens is fairly light, easy to handle, and takes razor-sharp images. No need for a tripod even when the focal length is 300mm. Smooth zooming, with no discernible distortion. With the lens hood, there is no lens flare or ghosting. The VR function works very well. If there is a downside, the AF-S lenses use the Nikon Silent Wave Motor, which is a bit slower and noisier than the AF-P lenses that use a stepping motor to achieve focus. It is still quiet and smooth, but this might make a difference if you're videoing in quiet environments, and you don't want the sound of the focus mechanism to creep into the video sound, or if you're photographing high-speed sports. I don't plan to do either, so this lens is perfect. I'm really very pleased with this lens, and would highly recommend it to any photography enthusiast.

A sturdy, excellent product that will be a key tool in your workshop or van.
1 of 1 found this helpful I needed a tough, strong clamp for a furniture project and I scoured the web for something portable. This product is everything that you'd expect--and more. It is heavy, study, and extremely capable of clamping virtually any work piece. I used it to hold an 8 foot by 2 inch tulip plank to plane and smooth. It held the workpiece rock solid. The product come right out of the box and can be setup in less than a minute--this is a literal minute. It folds up quickly and easily, and can be stored in a corner of your shop. The tripod design is perfect when you're working on an uneven surface--in my case, a sloping garden.
Anyone who buys professional tools appreciates excellent mechanical design and ergonomics, and this product has it all. Strong, well-engineered, intuitive to use, and it cuts down on time and effort. I'm sold on it, and I think it's an excellent addition to anyone's workshop or van.
