Wanda Rutkiewicz : A Caravan of Dreams

Quality publication - comprehensive, factual content and fantastic photos
If you are keen on mountaineering, whether it be physical or through the written word, and have a particular interest in female climbers, this book is a "must". Wanda features in many books on mountaineering and it was through reading of her achievements that I sought out "A Caravan of Dreams", a quality publication covering Wanda's life in general and a chronological record of her climbing achievements backed up by beautiful photographs from her own collection. The author, Gertrude Reinisch, was a friend who in her Forward explains that ".... (Wanda) left us a rich legacy - in the form of diaries, audio tapes, videos, reels of unedited film, photographs, and transparencies ... All this she had put by against the day when she would have written this book, had she been able to find time during her sojourn in the world. It has fallen to me to play the detective and try to put some order into this mass of material." I think she did a great job!

Highly recommended
Quality item that is very easy to use. It has a wide range of settings at varying intensities so you find the one(s) that are the most comfortable for you. I, personally, found the stronger settings too intense and feel more comfortable in the mid-range. I am using it on my frozen shoulder and it is early days yet but it certainly feels better than it did so I am very happy with the product.

A 'must' read for all animal lovers
I bought a oopy of this book about 5 years ago and absolutely loved it. The story follows the lives of Modoc and his handler, Bram, from birth to old age and is probably the most moving and absorbing animal story I have ever read. Although advertised as a true story, there is some controversy as to how much of the content is actually true. Very little, I should think. Some readers have tried to verify its authenticity without success. However, I do not think it matters. It is a wonderful book regardless and highly recommended as a 'must' read for all animal lovers. The second copy of the book that I have just purchased is for my grandson who has a special rapport with animals and who will, I am sure, find Modoc as absorbing as I did. It is one of the few books I will always treasure.
