Hard to follow because dancers face audience for most part
This could be a really good and instructive video dance class. The instruction is comprehensive without going on too long. Instructor offers good advice of what to be careful of. Where this video fails big is that during the combination steps, except in two instances, the dancers face the audience. While they are on their right foot and doing things with their left leg, the audience is supposed to be doing the same thing, but since the dancers aren't producing a mirror image (the way many dance instructors do in videos), it is very, very confusing. Which way am I supposed to be facing?? Which direction am I supposed to be moving. For someone just learning (or in my case, learning again), it is VERY UNHELPFUL to have to translate everything to the opposite foot and direction! Twice, the instructor does have the dancers turn around so at least you can follow them until you get the hang of it. However, twice in a video of this length is not enough. It needs to be every time. Unless you are a master of interpreting everything the opposite of what it looks like on screen, I'd pass up this DVD. It's just plain frustrating.
