Lava HD-2605 not recommended
4 of 5 found this helpful I had become tired of paying 165.00 per month satellite tv bills, so I thought I would install a digital antenna in our attic to receive our local channels. After doing some research I thought this antenna seemed like the best option, as it was listed for 150 mile range. I installed it in our giant cavernous attic as high as I could and pointing directly at the Dallas towers from which we live about 55 miles from. Receptions was spotty at best, one second you would get a channel next second you would lose it, as for the remote motor rotation on the antenna to tune it in it's is a joke. Movement from the motor is jerky and way too fast to be of any value when you're trying to fine tune it. So I decided I'll try it on the roof, oh and by the way we live on a hill with really no obstructions to any of the towers. After installing it on our roof we do get better reception but it still suffer loss of channels every now and then for no reason, and remember we are only 55 miles from the towers not 150 miles where I would be surprised if you could get anything. A little side note, we have our rv parked across the yard, with it's aluminum antenna I can receive all the local channels crystal clear, and one side of that antenna is broken off! So I would have to say, no I wouldn't recommend this antenna to a friend. I have a feeling I'll be replacing it within a year, when a gust of wind strips the gears on that little motor and the antenna spins freely on the mast.
