Hello, Thanks for browsing my listings and stumbling upon my Bio. I am a casual ebay seller who is selling stuff to raise extra spending money for my summer holiday! Though when Ebay and Paypal take their fees that won't leave much...lol.

An album of two halves.
I bought Year Zero on the strength of singles 'Capital G' and 'Survivalism'. Plus I was interested to read that this album would form a trilogy of releases based around a Year Zero concept - though the very phrase 'concept album' would put many people off. However, I was pleasantly suprised (most of) with Year Zero. Nine Inch Nails display a range of musical styles here - the expected, industrial synth rock and sampled drum beats, to a softer, more melodic driven sound. Most tracks hook the listener within the first listen due to the strength of the melodic arrangments, catchy choruses and Trent Reznor's vocal style. Admittedly, the first 9 tracks stand out the most, with the rest of the album tending to peter out toward the end. Plus, as with other NIN releases, there is the-directionless-instrumental-track, which adds nothing to the 'concept' behind the album. It reminded me of the worst of Ladytron's music actually. An album of two halves then. I'm interested to see what direction NIN take the Year Zero Concept on future releases.

The Good, The Bad, The Fragile.
I've been an occasional fan of Nine Inch Nails for a number of years, owning both The Downward Spiral and recent With Teeth albums. I decided to take a punt on The Fragile after finding a reasonably priced copy on Ebay. Over the two CDs, there are some definate standout tracks with such as 'The Wretched', 'We're In this Together', 'The Fragile', 'Even Deeper', and 'Into The Void'. Though apart from the immediacy of 'Starfuckers Inc', many of these tracks tend to reveal their true depth and appeal over several listens - which is not a bad thing at all. There are also a number of instrumental tracks which can add to the overall atmosphere of the album. 'The Frail' is a great, sparse, piano led track that acts as an introduction to 'The Wretched', seemlessly blending into to the latter's opening piano melody. However many of the other instrumentals tend to meander along, stretching the listener's enjoyment by recycling a riff or melody - 'Just Like You Imagined', 'The Mark Has Been Made'. 'I'm Looking Forward to Joining You Finally' is my least favourite track, being a fairly long, bland, empty listen. There is 1 CD's worth of great music on The Fragile, unfortunately padded out with superflous, bland tracks over 2 CDs. However those tracks that do stand out make this a worthwhile purchase.
