Simple Practical Solution to splitting Car Cigarette Lighter
I needed a splitter to allow for my Dashcam and my Phone Charger to work at the same time from my single socket. I looked at getting dual splitters but apart from this one they all seemed too big to fit into the area in my car where the lighter socket is, so this cabled variant seemed better. It is great for what I need, and indeed does not take up much room.

Good Unit, No Need for an Extension Cable but does need decent signal power through the unit to be effective
1 of 1 found this helpful It is useful where you have a device like a Surface Go where there is only 1 interface, namely a USB C and like me you want to include keyboards, monitors etc. I bought this to include these things, but one thing that didn't work was the VGA to USB C cable that I wanted to plug into this unit, which was annoying. I can only think this was due to the power going through the cable from my USB C not being strong enough. I fixed it by using an HDMI cable instead.
Having read other reviews on this item where people felt the little cable was too short, I bought a small USB C extender, which is proving to be a waste of time as it won't carry the signal from this unit to the Surface Go or even Surface Book 2. I am fine to use the Adaptor as it is without an extension - so buy this first, try it out before getting an extra cable at the same time.
