High quality receiver.
6 of 6 found this helpful I have bought three Pioneer Elite receivers in the past, a friend of mine suggested Yamaha and I will never buy a Pioneer again, this Yamaha is currently the highest rated receiver available and now after owning it for a short time I understand why. The quality of sound is better than any expensive Pioneer that I have owned, the Yamaha is much easier to use even though it has so many more features. Glad I could find a good price since I don't like paying retail, the retail price is 2000 while a comparable Pioneer Elite is 3000?. Go figure.

Polk, Best value (that I know of), for high quality speakers.
I had a subwoofer that had over 1000 watt amp go bad and realized that to get a good quality high watt output sub was going to cost me 1500 to 2000 so I researched Polk and found a high quality sub although it does not have a high output rating the sub far exceeds the specs listed. I have Polk tower speakers and Polk surrounds and center channel, Polk is made in America and there are many different speaker manufacturers that design their product in one place and manufacture them in China, most of these speakers cost significantly more money (retailers will generally have these speakers on their showroom floors while generally not having the Polk tower speakers on the floor otherwise you would never buy the more expensive speakers),while not even offering the same quality sound as the Polk speakers.
