Detailed kit from the SeaQuest TV series.
This is one nice little model kit! If you like a fair amount of detail and enjoy building interiors, this will be a fun model kit from the mid-90s when the show was on NBC. If you take your time, building the interior of the cockpit will give you a nice looking build and there's room for customizing it a bit if you're so inclined. Just building it after the box art will still give you a satisfying sci-fi vehicle from SeaQuest's futuristic year of 2018, which is when the instructions described vehicles like this were "flying" around the ocean. My only complaint has to deal with the lattice-work pattern on the bed that has to be painted on the clear plastic. Can be tedious and even for 1994 injection technology, I think they could have machined it differently since I found that after a few minutes, all those criss-crossing lines start to run together. I also would like to have seen a decal sheet with the "DSV-4600" designation since that was SeaQuest's construction number and a pilot figure to seat in the cockpit. All that aside, this is a fun model from this old TV series that was set in our present time and if you take your time, you'll make Captain Bridger proud!

Fun kit with full interior, and one neat little spacecraft
1 of 1 found this helpful If you want to tackle a challenging model kit AND you're a fan of this classic sci-fi TV series...even if was a bit cheesy after the first season, then this will be one neat little model to build. As a fan of kits that enable you to build the interior as well, Jupiter 2's space pod is a fun build and an educational one as well, since it's a combination of what the art department at 20th Century/Fox cooked up as well as what was borrowed from NASA's lunar module from the Apollo program. You have to remember that when the Pod made it's debut in the series' third season in '68-'69, the LM hadn't yet landed on the moon. And as to how Jupiter 2 had any room for this little bird to be stuffed in, well, we'll leave that up to Irwin Allen. Pick up this kit and then build the companion Chariot...full interior as well...and they'll keep you busy for a month or two...or three.

Admiral Nelson Would Be Proud
Up till now, I had to be satisfied with the smaller Aurora/Monogram Flying Sub that honestly, for its size had a fair amount of interior detail. But this monster from Moebius REALLY fits the bill! At almost the same size as the old Lunar Models vacu-form kit from 25 years ago, this model would make Admiral Nelson proud. Big enough to allow for lighting and more detail, with an interior that is well-researched and accurate since it came from studio blueprints. Magnificent, and can't wait to get cracking on building mine!
