Chicago small time hood becomes underworld big-shot; Robinson's star making performance is first class in this hard hitting social consciousness drama made during the depression-era. Caesar Enrico Bandello,, is a hoodlum with a chip on his shoulder and no sense of underworld ethics or diplomacy. He would rise for a while , then succumb to the depths of the underworld .
Edward G. Robinson will forever be associated as Hollywood's archetypal gangster.

Exhaustive Chronicle of WWI Fighter planes.
A very exhaustive book, chronicling the evolution of aircraft from the inception of World War 1 until its conclusion. Wonderfully illustrated throughout, including virtually every fighter plane involved in each theatre of the conflict. Excellent resource!

Simon Reynolds has meticulously chronicled the development of electronic dance music and the new countercultural it spawned, which became known as ‘Rave’. From the earliest development of the underground Chicago House scene through to the experimental sounds of Detroit Techno.
The music would find its greatest audience in Europe, where ‘Ravers’ found a synergistic drug to accompany the music, ‘Ecstasy’. Heralding England’s summer of love, Acid House, smiley faces, illegal warehouse parties, and running the gauntlet of the law.

By the early 90’s, adulterated ecstasy circulating at raves and clubs profoundly changed the vibe of the scene, as a result the tempo of the music had accelerated. Reflecting the mutation in the BPM’s, the’Rave Scene’ had fragmented into various genres and sub genres: Breakbeat, Hardcore and Trance, in turn alienating the techno purists.
During the mid 90’s the BPM’s would morph into Drum ‘n’ Bass ‘Jungle-ism’, and by the end of the millennium would see the emergence of Speed Garage and Trip Hop. The new post rave generation which saw in the new millennium, would experience ‘Mega Raves’, and by the early 2000’s the rebranding of electronic dance music (EDM) in the USA.
Generation Ecstasy saw ‘Rave’ as a countercultural, transcontinental, spiritual revolution, bringing all walks together under the banner of dance.
