I became interested in this method of fire starting when I became a boyscout leader for my 2 boys. Eventually I started most all my fires with a flint and steel. All the steel strikers I offer I make by hand here in the USA.

All the edges sparked for me and if they didn't I tried to make them better to spark by chipping the flint just a little and you will too eventually.
