revolutionary?
It was an interesting experiment that resulted in the CD based platform revolution that we now enjoy as our Wiis and our PS3s and so on. But..... other than the addition of CD quality sound tracks, ths Sega CD had little to offer. The library consisted mainly of pre existing Genesis/megadrive titles that had really groovy sound tracks added. Though the same effect could be achieved by just listening to your favorite CD while playing the Genesis cart of your choice. There were also some very interesting games called FMVs that were more like movies that you had to constantly make split-second decisions about which direction to go but they were very difficult control let alone make it very far. The ideas were good but the technology just wasn't there yet so it's a good piece a video game nostalgia especially if you owned one long ago (or knew someone who did) but otherwise not worth much more than a second glance at your local flea market.

classic NES Light gun shooter
I love the old light gun series for the classic NES! There is just something about "shooting" a gun and seeing you enemies explode into pixelated oblivian. This isn't the best game on the list but it really tried to create an outer-space shooting atmosphere as opposed to the standard ducks, or cans, or targets scenes. I know that in the Wii age this technology isn't so impressive but if you are over 25 I can recommend this game to take you back to a time when you're accuracy with a pistol was as important as saving a princess ;)
