When a five or eight port switch just isn't enough.
With far more devices on the network, this takes the simple switching tasks from the router and lets it do its job properly; DHCP, DNS and internet.
It makes home automation easier by not maxing out the router.

I was a little worried this may not do the job for which I wanted it, that is, take out most of the vagueness at the steering wheel. Well, any concerns were unfounded. Steering, more so at speed and through bend, is so much better.
Highly recommended. A little pricey but worth it.

Dropped into HP Gen8 & now Xeon power. :)
The Celeron in the Gen8 Microserver runs but power was needed for other functions. Have it now.
