Stupid Electronics
2 of 2 found this helpful This is the worst DVD/VCR recorder I have ever owned. First of all the infrared sensor is not powerful enough. I have to litterally point the remote directly at the unit to get a response. Even if I get a response it is slow so you are not sure if you have to try again to get it to change channels. Second, if you want to record a DVD, don't plan on using it on another DVD player because it will not recognize the DVD. I tried 3 other DVD players and it would not play. For this reason, why bother dubbing a VHS to DVD if it won't play on anything else. Third, the VHS will not play through the S-video output, you have to use composite. Also the tape gets jammed on occasion. Forth, the upscaling using HDMI is very bad quality. Compared to playstation 3 upscaling it is very blurry. Fifth, the instructions in english are very hard to follow, it must have been a translation. So what I have here is a very low quailty TV tuner to connect to my LCD TV through HDMI that may or may not respond to changing the channels. Everything else is crap.

Good Screen Saver
1 of 1 found this helpful The scenes are breathtaking. If you are close to the TV it looks like you are flying. The reason for the average score is the picture quality is rather grainy if you are up close. It's as if the camera is in low light and the electronics are trying to compensate. I have seen better clarity in OVER THE AIR HDVT shows. However it is very educational if you haven't seen these areas from a fly-by view. It makes an excellent screen saver. I let it play sometimes just to see a nice picture on the wall. The music is very mellow classic american songs that can put you to sleep easily. There is some narration when changing scenes.
