Wow - I run my whole house on this baby.
3 of 3 found this helpful I did the research and got this because I want to have a 100 pound tank of propane in the back for emergency situations. I don't plan to run gas but I'm glad I have the option to.
Out of the box it took 3 starts before it ran smooth on a 20 pound tank. My wife can start this very quickly once I got it started for the first time out of the box. The instructions for adding the wheels and handles are not user friendly but you can figure it out pretty quick.
I have tested up to a 7000 load at this point which is basically my entire 4500 square foot house including a vacuum cleaner and microwave. I have gas dryer and stove so they don't consume much of anything.
I got a Reliance control transfer switch panel (125A utility, 50amp generator) and installed it between the utility inlet and my home panel. Granted the panel is 200A capable but I really don't need that so the 125A utility was fine on the switch.
In case you are wondering (because it took a little research on my part). YOu should use a 14-50 plug to CS6364C cable. These are hard to come by so if you have the skill I would build one custom length or have someone locally build it for you. You want the shortest cable you can get for the installation you want. The cable will be so thick that "wrapping it up" to keep it out of th way, it's really an option =-).

3 of 4 found this helpful If you are buying this, you know what you *should* be getting. It's not the cheapest cable out there but it is good cable for quality (and long) runs particularly when you are looking at the latest technology (satellite). I used this to rewrite a resort so I needed direct burial cable like this and have more than 250 feet to travel and I'm happy to report that it works extremely well. Satellite dish directly shows 96% signal and more than 250 feet to the farthest cable it still gives me 93%....that is a VERY small drop!!!!!
