Quality HBA for economical storage setups
2 of 2 found this helpful I flashed all of mine to latest IT firmware (I bought 3 and they all came with IR). It works perfectly as a HBA for 8 drives with 2x fanout cables (1x 8087 to 4x SATA). Tested with HP SAS Expander (v2.60 that will run +24 drives at 3Gbps/SATA2) and on its own it will run drives at 6Gbps, nicely monitored with MSM (google megaraid storage manager). Windows 10 automatically recognizes it and sets up the correct driver for it. Heatsink gets hot to the touch so I mounted a 40mm noctua fan with aluminum tape that fits perfectly and will cool it even at half speed, barely warm to the touch. This card is a lot of value for the money. Came well protected and as new.
