Works as expected

Bought this because it was cheap and we were just wanting to do some testing of our access control system with standard Wiegand 26. It was easy to hook up and worked without issue. For someone looking for a budget reader I believe this would be a good solution.

APC UPS: AP9617

Good addition to the APC UPS, but required some effort to get it working.

The AP9617 does exactly what I wanted, but it wasn't as simple as plug and play. This device, being older, required some updating to get it to work with current browsers. The one I purchased hadn't been reset to factory defaults and there was no indication of what its IP address was. Pressing the reset button on the back for 20 seconds only resets that username and password to factory defaults, not the IP address. The APC software didn't detect the device when it was plugged into the network and I began to think I had a dead unit. To figure out the IP address, I ended up plugging a computer directly into the card and used Wireshark to analyze the packets for traffic coming from the AP9617. Once I had that, I was good to go.
