Bad cord

This charger seems to be having trouble syncing with my Galaxy S7 phone. I have to keep connecting and disconnecting in order to get it to fast charging and then when I finally get it to fast charge it starts overheating and then stops charging. Not sure if these cords were bad cords from the start.
