RF Power Transistor Failed
2 of 2 found this helpful This is an RF power amplifier with the Mitsubishi Semi Conductors logo. It is used in portable comm transceivers. The case and pin-outs are correct with the center emitter terminal and fin connected. However, this transistor failed when the transmitter was keyed for the first time after installation. The base/emitter junction shorted instantly. In my application this transistor is operated near its maximum power rating for short periods only. This transistor is protected by a current limiting varistor that is pasted over the transistor case with silicone heat-sink compound. I subsequently installed an NTE342 which is identical to the 2SC1971 and the device is now operating normally.
I am therefore very concerned regarding the validity of these transistors.

SSD's have no moving parts and are therefor faster and more reliable.
It is an SSD and I installed it into an Acer RL85 with Windows -10. The HDD was getting too slow. The SSD fixed this problem and was easy to install after cloning. The RL85 now boots in less than 30 seconds.
