New Bad Elf High Performance GPS & GLONASS Receiver with Lightning Connector

Only works with out an iPhone case

I bought the Bad Elf GPS with lightning connector because I thought it would be a great addition to my other Bad Elf because we have a family of pilots and they work great. It works good but, unfortunately, it won't plug into an iPhone that has any case on it. The lightning connector has to be right next to the phone. I looked at extenders but the reviews for extenders were mostly only good for charging or they didn't work after a day. So instead of spending more money on bogus extenders I returned it and will by a Bluetooth Bad Elf 2200. If you don't have a case and want a great GPS then you're in luck! The product gets a 5 star but functionality gets a 1 so it's a 3 for me.

Great for any pilot

Flying over the pacific my co-pilot pulls the Bad Elf out and has our exact position on his iPad. I was so impressed I bought one. It hasn't let me down. I use it commercially and privately with the Fore Flight app and it's tremendous. I also use it hiking with my iPhone with the bad elf app. It's great. It's amazing that this little thing can pick up 12 satellites and pin point your location anywhere in the world. No wifi or signal needed. I literally do not leave home without it. From my experience the bluetooth Bad Elf is the way to go. The one with the lightning connector, although excellent, can only be used without an iPhone case. All of the after market connectors don't work very well. For the extra $49 it worth it to get the 2200 and you can connect up to 5 devices.

A little flimsy

I've had other Patriots flags that were two sided and perfect dark color. This flag is one sided and the color isn't the dark blue as shown. It's a lighter blue and thin enough to see through. With that being said, you get what you pay for and the price was good for the product that was received. The thinness lets the flag dry out easier and fly with minimal wind.
