Broan 433 Automatic Shutter for Gable Mount Powered Attic Ventilator

Installed the Broan 433 automatic gable shutter with a Quietcool AFG ES-1500 Fan.

Last weekend, I Installed the Broan 433 automatic gable shutter with a Quietcool AFG ES-1500 Fan in a small attic space above the master bedroom closet. The Broan gable shutter works flawlessly - It provides maximum airflow with the cooling fan running, and backdraft protection when the fan is turned off. I also installed two 10x25 inch return vents with filters to allow the hot air to be drawn out from the cathedral ceiling area, and into the attic space. The filters were only installed to help keep the spiders in the attic space and out of the bedroom. The gable shutter vent along with the Quietcool fan has helped to significantly reduce the summertime temperature in the bedroom. The Quietcool fan was a little pricey, but it moves 1500 CFM on just 30 watts of electricity. The fan will payoff quickly with my electrical savings by reducing the amount of time that the air conditioner will actually need to be turned on. I recommend buying these two products together. You will not be disappointed.
