Sonar is excellent, but the GPS system could use some work
I got this for wreck hunting from my kayak and it works very well for that. The first day i had it out there was a foot and a half of chop and the unit got well and truly drenched, but didn't miss a beat. Sonar quality is probably about the best you can expect from a downscan unit. Comes with a couple of different mounting options for the transducer, neither of which work particularly well for a kayak. The mount is strong enough and moves in two axis, but is a proprietary design that needs to be screwed into something to work.
The GPS works well, but the waypoint system and the total lack of even a basemap really let this unit down. The navigation screen is just a boat icon and whatever waypoints you've set with no reference to anything else. At this price I really think they could have done better,
All in all it's a good fishfinder with a very limited GPS capability bolted on. Recommended with caveats.

A little plasticy, but works well for the price
1 of 1 found this helpful Nearly all the parts are plastic and it'seems definitely more cheaply made than some, but on the other hand it works perfectly and costs $40 less. I would say it's good for home use or in a server where the drives don't get moved around much, but if you're swapping out drives all the time then I would recommend a higher end unit. Fan is basically silent.

No idea. I killed mine trying to install it
Total user error. My bad.
